What does Easy Hit hope to
achieve?
The Company,
its management, employees and consultants will offer specialist advice and
guidance to coaches, trade and retail customers and provide qualified,
experienced technical support. The Company will provide a 21st Century product
that seeks to level the field of shooting competition and achieve a higher
percentage of ‘first shot’ despatch of quarry by improving customer
accuracy.
The Easy Hit web site will provide all shooters with an opportunity
to identify and fully understand the phenomenon known as Master Eye or Cross-Eye
Dominance. We will monitor constructive feedback and constantly review our
marketing strategy. The information we provide will be contemporary and
accurate. We will continue to maintain our customer focus to ensure that those
engaged in shooting enjoy the sport in general, our services and products. We
will remain aware that the company success relies on customer satisfaction and
confidence. We will monitor feedback to confirm that these attributes continue
to be achieved by prompt product delivery and customers continued success in
their quarry and clay shooting results, unhampered by eye dominance problems.
If I
change my gun can I move the bead from my old gun?
Yes.
The Bead can be removed safely by using fishing line to slice through the
adhesive (there is no flexibility in the fibre optic material. It must not be
bent in any way) which seperates the bead from the adhesive. The remaining
adhesive is then rubbed from the rib and base of the
bead.
What
is the best colour of shooting glasses to use with the Easyhit!! bead.I have
just fitted one and use amber glasses?
The advice I
give is based on the basic principle of how the Easy Hit!! bead works. The brain
is tricked by the difference in light contrast registered when both eyes work
together whilst focussing on the target.
The contrast difference is caused by
the correct eye aligned with the rib registering what the cross-eye does
not.
Therefore if both lenses in your glasses allow the same frequency of
light. e.g. They are the same colour/tone, the light contrast seen through them
is very likely to be the same whatever the lens colour and the bead will work
effectively.
However, the best glasses are those that permit a constant
frequency whatever you are looking at. There are only a few on the market from
the major manufacturers.
Why
can I see the bead with both eyes?
It is not
possible to see the bead with boths eyes at the same time and have your head in
the correct position. If this happens mount your gun (after checking it is
unloaded of course) at a mirror in your home. You will find that your years of
shooting with a cross-dominant eye has got you into the habit of craning your
head over the stock to get the eye closer to the line of the rib. The reflection
in the mirror will confirm to you immeadiately that you need to bring your head
back on side and shoot naturally and probably a lot more comfortably. However,
to accomodate your previous set up, which may have required a lower comb height,
you may now need to review that height and have your gun fit checked.
Does
the device have a power source?
No. The
brightness of the bead comes from daylight caught by the high quality fibre
optic material and channelled towards the shooters eye and appears as a bright
dot.
I'm
slighty red colour blind. Would a green bead be better for me than the red one.
Which length and diameter would be best for trap shooting. I shoot mainly DTL
with the odd ABT, OT and UT?
Response from
Victor Scrooby - Sports Vision Optometrist - If you are 'red' colour blind then
believe it or not you are also 'green'colour blind. This is called dueteranopia
and affects about 8% of all men. It should not influence the effectiveness of
the bead at all. The colour of the bead is not important it is, in my opinion,
the brightness contrast (what the correct eye sees against what the wrong eye
does not with the bead in place) that makes the bead work and as such could be
any colour. Graham Oades says "The 3mm shooting bead is without doubt the
preferred bead for success at all trap disciplines".
As an
experienced right shouldered shooter using maintained lead how do I cope with my
previous sight pictures if my eye dominance is corrected by the Easy Hit!! bead?
As an
experienced shooter your previous perception of lead will need refreshing. This
will not take long after you fit the Easy Hit!! bead as you will be using
natural and logical judgement to decide on the length of lead. Fitting the bead
will take away the need to compensate for the effects of wrong eye dominance.
Your shooting will now become more consistent and less frustrating.
Why
are there three lengths to choose from?
The three
lengths are designed to suit both shooters personal preference and the amount of
light available in their normal shooting conditions.
The longer the device,
the longer the bead will remain illuminated.
How
does it actually work?
Simplistically. It works on the principle that your correct eye is
presented with a fibre optic bead not dissimilar to any other but the wrong
(cross-dominant) eye is prohibited from seeing it due to its patented design
shielding it from view.
Despite not looking at the bead the brain still
registers the contrast in light between the rib view and the non rib view along
the barrel and will always prefer the rib line of sight.
The brain is
constantly tricked into taking the easy option and the correct eye will always
remain dominant despite looking at the target and long after you forget the bead
is there, or you remove it, or use a gun without one fitted. Remember, it does
not train the brain it tricks it!
Why
are there two widths for each bead length?
The two
widths are designed to suit both shooters personal preference and the amount of
light available in their normal shooting conditions.
The wider the device,
the longer the bead will remain illuminated.
As a
game shooter with a side by side what bead should I buy?
The short 2.5mm or 3mm wide Hunting
beads are ideal for use on side by sides. If shooting at dawn or dusk the 3mm
wide bead is always the first choice.
As a
Clay shooter with an eye dominance problem and who owns both a semi auto and an
over and under what beads should I use?
Clay
shooters use all lengths and widths. They will all achieve the same
objective.
On average the 3mm wide Shooting bead is the most popular and
would be perfect for both the semi and the over and under.
My
shotgun rib is not smooth does this matter when fixing the
bead?
No. The
adhesive will ensure the bead remains in place during normal use.
I
have a 4mm rib on my side by side. Will the bead be sufficiently stable and stay
in place?
Yes. The 3M
adhesive tape used to secure the bead to the rib will adhere perfectly and
securely to the rib.
What
is the main use of the Sportshooting bead?
The
Sportshooting bead is the longest and brightest bead.
In either 2.5mm or 3mm
width it is excellent for pigeon shooting in shaded areas or wildfowling and
duck flighting at dusk or dawn. It is also the best choice for coaching. The
benefit is shared by shooters without cross dominant eyes in poor light
situations as the bead can use more light than the Sporting or Hunting
beads.
What
is the main use of the Shooting bead?
The Shooting
bead is the second longest bead. It is the most popular model amongst Sporting
and Trap shooters, being average in length and brightness.
Will
the beads brightness distract me and make me look at the end of the
barrel?
The bead
appears like any other bead, whether fibre optic or not, there is no need to
look at it at any time. It is the clever patented design that stops the wrong
eye seeing it that is the secret of its success. The Easy Hit!! bead is designed
to trick the brain without any further help from you after it is fitted.
Is
there any independent evidence to support the claim that this bead works to
correct cross eye or master eye dominance?
Yes. Victor
Scrooby of Classic Eyes Opticians www.classiceyes.com is a Sports
Vision Optometrist who lectures on Cross Eye dominance. You can read his report
and direct reference to Easy Hit!! by viewing the ‘Why it Works’ page. You can
also contact Simon Goldsmith of JH Steward (Bisley) Ltd of Bristol.
Why
has this bead not been on the market before?
Having been
designed and patented nearly 7 years ago as a cross-eye eliminator it was not
confirmed that it could have such a positive impact on shooters
scores.
Only now is its true worth being identified by shooters,
instructors and coaches across the UK and
Eire.
Do
you use the bead?
Yes. As a
CPSA Level 2 Sporting Coach I have a totally dominant left eye and shoot from
the right shoulder.
I cannot shoot straight without the bead. In my opinion
there is no better, more effective or natural way to restore binocular and
peripheral vision and improve scores.
What
axiom do you use when suggesting how to use the bead to a new customer?
I say ‘Fit
it and Forget it’. Like any bead, whether fibre optic or not, there is no need
to look at it at any time.
The Easy Hit!! bead is designed to trick the brain
without any further help from us after it is fitted.
Will
the length of the bead make my gun look shorter and affect my shooting?
No. Your
cross dominant eye (Master eye) will be the eye over the rib and the perception
of barrel length should not play any part in your shooting with a correctly
fitted gun.
How
do I fit the bead temporarily for coaching or testing if the device works for
me?
Use black
electrical tape. This will remain in place whilst shooting and will not damage
the gun or the bead during fitting, shooting or removal.
The black tape will
provide no distraction to the shooter.
I use
a Shotgun which has a centre bead halfway down the barrel. Do I need to remove
this. If so, how can I do so without damaging the gun. Also, does the front
sight need to be removed?
If the gun
is fitted correctly you should in most cases (there are exceptions) see a figure
of 8 formed by the two beads.
In some cases the gap may be larger but seldom
do the beads over lap. There is no need to remove either bead in order to fit
the Easy Hit!! bead. Easy Hit!! fits on the rib and butts up against the
existing muzzle end bead. The Easy Hit!! bead should be visible in place of your
existing muzzle end bead. If the middle bead blocks out the view of the Easy Hit
Bead we recommend you check your gun fit as this indicates that the comb is low.
If in doubt call us for live technical help. 0845 895 1066 9am - 9pm Mon - Sun.
We recommend all alterations to shotguns are carried out by a qualified
Gunsmith.
